Walking weekend Minehead

Walking weekend Minehead
Fri 10 Nov 17 - Sun 12 Nov 17
Weekends away

Minehead YH walking weekend –10-12th November 2017 (with option of staying/booking yourself Thursday night too – more info later for this)

Minehead, Somerset, TA24 6EW

Hello everyone…….I’ve booked lovely Minehead YH for our sole use on the above dates.  It sleeps a total of 35 people in various size rooms (no singles).  The approximate cost per person at this stage is roughly £50 (based on 20 people, £55 for 18 people).  There more of us there are the cheaper the cost. This is on a B&B basis.  Breakfast to be supplied by the hostel.  Bed linen is provided.  You will just need towels .  Evening meals will probably be at the local pub 1 mile or away or in Minehead itself as for sole bookings at this time of year evening meals are not catered for.  I will not pack us in so there should be plenty of room.  This is the very last weekend I will be booking for the group so come along and enjoy!

Take to two wheels, relax on a beach or try a spot of badger watching at YHA Minehead. A country retreat in an attractive house high in Somerset’s Exmoor hills, perfect for a weekend break. Enchantingly situated in a woodland hideaway, YHA Minehead has bags of charm. Not only is Minehead a picturesque seaside resort with a cracking sandy beach, it’s also the northern gateway to the National Park, the area’s largest town and the start point of the South West Coast Path (SWCP) – the nation’s longest long-distance walking trail.  Walkers can enjoy the South West Coast Path. Don’t miss the medieval village of Dunster - a lovely short walk away.

As National Park’s go, Exmoor is one of the most peaceful. A wander around its heather-clad moorlands, along its dramatic coastline or around its sheltered bays promises the ultimate distraction from life’s day-to-day woes. You could even try our hand-drawn favourite walk right from the hostel doorstep.  This circular walk is 3 miles to Dunster or add on an extra 3.5 miles to take in Dunster beach (can be found on the hostel website).  As usual we will need people to lead walks and you have a choice of coastal and moorland walks so please email me directly if you’re willing to lead a walk at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Please email Fran at the usual address… This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to book your place.  Can you also copy me in so I have an idea of numbers please.  Please note, as usual rooms are booked on the boy/girl split and couples do not automatically get a room together (although I do try where possible) so please don’t request certain rooms as this just makes things a little bit difficult for me.  Fran will forward me the list of names and once all the places are booked I will then contact you to confirm you have a place, the confirmed cost and payment details.

More information later in 2017 for a great weekend walking offering coastal or moors walking.
